Stage Accident—Dark Night And Spunky Driver.—Last Tuesday night was very dark and stormy. The stage from Trinity Center to Shasta—Harry Burk, driver—had a hard time, generally, that night. Between Trinity Center and Fitch's it ran into the bank, breaking the large leather supporters which serve as springs, and doing other damage. Harry patched us and traveled on. Pretty soon went over the bank, smashing things generally, and extinguishing the lights, leaving all hands in a beautiful state of uncertainty as to where they were, and how to proceed. Harry was bound to go through—unhitched the team, took the way mails and started, leaving the through mail and treasure in good hands. He steered a general course for Shasta, sometimes in the river, again in the brush, and occasionally in the road, and finally arrived in Shasta at 8 o'clock next morning.
