Quieting Down

We expected to see a slight war panic among householders as there seemed evident an increase in commodity prices. Goods would be affected higher than normal prices, but after the first rush to prevent family shortage, the buyer realized this nation is equipped to care for its own with a surplus in commodities.
We feel we will be protected from the war profiteer who causes an increase in prices. A legitimate and reasonable profit is not unreasonable and is expected when war prices create a certain rise. But save us from the extensive profiteering of 1914.
The sensible purchase of everyday produce, the wise buying of staples, will help business to keep its head, if the purchaser keeps his.
We are glad that in Nogales it isn't necessary to offer up a silent prayer every time we attempt to cross the street.
