Notes and Comment.

If I should die tonight
And over my cold corse you'd drop a tear
And say, "Alas, he could not know it here."
I say if I should die and you should weeping say
"George Marvin told the truth, for once, today"
Methinks 'twould bring me back to life again.
If I should die tonight-
If I should die and you should say, "The facts
Are these, he says he'll pay his tax
And quit dissension, lies and useless strife
And try to live a decent, manly life."
I'd haunt you then for jolting me so hard.
