The National Senate, Saturday, after a brief executive session, took up the Tariff Bill, and amended the clause relating to bar iron and stones. Asphaltum, bitumen, books and jute butts were put on the free list. A message received from the President in regard to the invasion of the Indian reservations. In the House the Tariff Bill was amended in committee as to the clause respecting steel rails and the clause relating to armor-plate was struck out. The Legislative Appropriation Bill was read, but its consideration was stopped by the failure of a quorum.
