Full Text

From the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland's speech at the opening the sessions of the Irish parliament, it is clear, that Ireland is to be indulged in the following demands:

1. A Court of Admiralty, under the authority of an Irish statute.

2. An independent Post Office, under the same authority.

Heretofore, the Courts of Admiralty in Ireland are under delegated authority, by virtue of Commissions from the Admiralty of Great Britain, of course the dernier resort lay to the Court of Admiralty here.

There is not at present an established Post Office in Ireland, but offices under the direction of the Postmaster General of Great Britain: of course the revenue raised in Ireland by the carriage of letters went into the aggregate fund of the Post Office of Great Britain, whereas it will now compose part of the revenue of Ireland.
