Color And Comfort
On The Scene For
Men's Sportswear

Color and comfort are the twin keynotes in men's sportswear this Spring.

Explosive tones are especially noted in the new sport shirts. Gaily patterned, they frequently take their cue from the West Coast and South America.

The most interesting news in sportswear fabrics is the strong re-appearance of denim. Sturdy, economical and readily washable, this practical cloth is cropping up in shirts, shorts and slacks for all-round leisure wear.

The insistent demand for more comfort in menswear has resulted in the almost complete disappearance of vests.

Emphasis on ease has also produced several attempts to bring more comfort to the belt-line. The English have come up with a new idea in their Daks trousers, which eliminate belts, suspenders and buckles altogether. An elasticized waistband, concealing five sponge rubber pads, keeps the trousers up and the shirt down.

Growing use of fabrics in combination is another trend. In this category are the pullovers in which corduroy is teamed with flannel gabardine with knitted cotton and suede with wool.
