P. I. A. PLANE ARRIVES AND DEPARTS NOME

Pilot Barnhill, of the Pacific International Airways of Alaska, stationed at Anchorage, arrived at Nome yesterday evening about 7 p.m. in a Fairchild plane on pontoons. He had as a passenger, Mrs. Cook, an investigator and official of the Office of Education, from Nenana from which place he flew from yesterday, Tuesday.

Barnhill was the first to land a pontoon "job" on the waters of Bering Sea. Following his landing he taxied up Snake River and moored his plane for the night.

Due to fog and adverse conditions he did not leave today until after noon, with Mrs. Cook as a returning passenger for Bethel and Akiak which places he will stop enroute to Anchorage. The plane carried a small sack of mail from Nenana.
