Golovin Fishing Season

John and Katherine Olson of Golovin are visiting in Nome for a few days, having experienced their first season of fishing for the Bering Sea Fisheries, and look forward to continuing the work again next summer as they bought their gear from the canning company.

Mr. Olson stated that he estimates the operation brought into the community of Golovin about $40,000 and that his boat averaged about 200 fish a day at 35 cents a fish. He estimated between 20 and 30 boats operated at Golovin this season.
