THE NEXT PRESIDENT.

The question "who shall be the next president," has not yet been decided by the customary caucus of democratic members of congress; it is a question which now strongly agitates the democratic party throughout the union. The various contracts for office which are necessary to ensure a majority in favor of the Virginian Candidate are not yet finally arranged; and the praises of certain persons have not been sufficiently circulated in democratic papers, to justify a meeting of the Caucus. -Balt.
