Fifteen thousand of the British and Spanish troops were encamped beyond the walls of Cadiz on the Isle.

Nothing is said of the defeat of General Crawford's division--and the account of that action received by a vessel, which left Cadiz on the 15th of July, is said to be incorrect.

A distant cannonade and bombardment were continued between the French and the garrison, but with little effect on either side.
