St. Phillip Mon. AME Church

The youth of St. Phillip Monumental were in charge of the service throughout the day, Sunday with Miss Al Marie Glover serving as general chairman. Sunday school was held at the usual hour. At regular hour of the morning service Miss Priscilla Whitaker introduced the speaker Mr. Charles Frasier, who was very prompt and distinct in delivering an interesting address. Mr. Frasier is a member of Midway Congregational Church; a graduate of Liberty County High School, sophomore of Savannah State College, a member of the Honor Society and Savannah State Marching Band, Vice president of the Phinx Club and of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Music for the service was rendered by the Young Peoples Choir. At 4:00 p.m. a Panel Discussion was featured. The topic "Youth Ask About Religion." Pastor Jaudon served as moderator. Persons appearing on the panel were Miss Ida Hagins, Francina McIntosh, Ruth Wright, and Mr. Gerald Moss. Other featured on the program were selection rendered by the Rising Stars. At the climax of the Pue Rally, Miss Jo Anne Patterson became Miss Monumental, and Mr. Gerald Moss is honored Mr. Monumental Junior. The Youth extends many thanks to all churches and friends who cooperated and helped in making the youth day a success.
