Items of Personal and Social Interest Gleaned About Town

Kenton, May 24.—The Children's Day service will be held in Kenton M. E. Church on Sunday evening, June 5th. The Ladies' Aid Society will meet with Mrs. Ernest Jarrell on Wednesday evening, June 1st. Miss Susan Hands near Wilmington, spent a couple of days last week with Miss Corinne Hilyard. Mrs. Sarah Walker and granddaughter Mary Kathryn, Mr. Owen Moore and Mr. Carl Prettyman, spent the week-end at Rehoboth with Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Walker, who are spending some time there. Miss Kathryn Clifton has returned to Goldey College in Wilmington, after spending some time home. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Buckingham and family, of Newark, spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Cook. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Clark and children, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Clark in Smyrna. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Prettyman motored to Cecilton, Md., on Sunday to visit her brother, Mr. Clayton Wheatman. Miss Irene Cook is visiting her father, Mr. John N. Cook. Mr. George Woodell has moved from the property owned by Mr. George Prettyman, Jr., to the W. G. Knotts property. Mr. Clifton Reynolds followed Mr. Woodell. Mr. James Megonigal of Washington, D. C., spent the week-end with his uncle, Mr. James T. Burrows.
