On Wednesday the assizes ended on the Crown side at Hereford, when the prisoners were tried for the murder of William Powell, Esq; six of whom received sentence of death, and were ordered for execution on Friday last, and others to be dissected; but two were afterwards ordered to be hung in chains, near the place where the murder was committed, and three were acquitted.

The names of those left for execution were William Spiggot, David Lewellin, William Charles, David Morgan, William Morris, and William Walter Evan. This trial lasted from 7 in the morning until 8 at night.
