Transactions of the Commissioners Yesterday Afternoon.
Bills were allowed amounting to something over $1000, of which the police pay roll used $504.75, and the fire department roll $504.16.
A communication from the secretary relative to the sale of unclaimed goods in his hands was referred to the president of the board.
A check for $50 was received from the Sullivan Lumber Company, in token of appreciation of the work of the department at the recent fire, and the amount was transferred to the relief fund.
Albert J. Reynolds was appointed special constable for the First Wesleyan Church.
The applications of Charles McGreen and Jim Cunningham for places on the police force were placed on file.
A complaint was made from Mr. Clara Bliss, against Otto Jarvis, for alleged illegal arrest, and was referred to the Committee on Men and Discipline.
Ninety dollars received for old hose was ordered deposited with the city treasurer.
A petition for a pole bracket on Grandville avenue was referred to the Committee on Men and Discipline.
