2 Scout Leaders
At Camp Training

Two Kodiak Scout leaders were among nineteen leaders from Alaska who recently completed the training leading to the Wood Badge.

Vernon Draper, Cub Scout Committeeman and Skipper of the Kodiak Sea Scout Unit, and Marvin Wilson, Boy Scout District Commissioner, were the two Kodiak representatives attending the first course in Wood Badge training ever held on the Pacific Coast or in Alaska.

Training consisted of eight days in camp, sleeping in tents, cooking and eating in the open, and learning practical things by experiencing them. In the training, candidates must also complete a series of questions and projects which require written reports.

The purpose of the International Wood Badge program, with headquarters in England, is to provide Scout leaders with training so they may train local adults interested in becoming Scout Leaders.

The Cub Scout Pack Committee will meet at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 29 in the high school auditorium. All members of the Committee are urged to attend this important meeting.

Den Mothers of Pack 213 are as follows: Den 1, Mrs. Paul Bond; Den 2, Mrs. K.C. Boyce; Den 3, Mrs. Bob Garey; Den 4, Mrs. Ray Bourassa; Den 5, Mrs. Vernon Draper; assistant Den Mother, Mrs. Elmer Jesser; Den 6, Mrs. Frank Irick and Den 7, Mrs. T.R. Belleau.
