April 21. We hear from Whitchurch, in Herefordshire, That on Wednesday Evening, Samuel Thomas, of Langarran, near that Place, Labourer, being out at Work, his Wife was digging in the Garden, and left Two Children in the House ( one near four, and the other about a Year and half old ) the eldest of which, took the other into a Pigsty adjoining thereto, wherein was some Straw, cover'd it therewith, and then set the Straw on Fire, ( in Imitation, as 'tis thought, of the Father, who had 2 or 3. Days before kill'd a Pig, and singed it; ) the Wind being very high, increased the Flame, and the Child was so miserably burnt before the Mother could get it out, that it liv'd but 8 Hours after. The Mother was much burnt ; and the House, with the greatest Part of the poor Man's Goods, entirely consumed.
