Florida Recitals
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 9. (ANP)-Large and enthusiastic audiences greeted Miss Thomasina Talley, noted concert pianist, at her recitals in Tallahassee and Jacksonville recently. Such was her reception that she was compelled on numerous occasions to interrupt her regular program to play encores.
In Tallahassee, she appeared at Lee auditorium under the auspices of Florida A. & M. college. She was forced to play four additional encores at the end of her program before being permitted to leave the platform. Her offerings featured compositions by Brahms, Franck, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and De Falla.
During the recital, she received a beautiful floral gift from sister AKA sorors, who are members of Beta Alpha chapter. Later she was guest of the A. & M. music faculty at a buffet supper; with Mr. and Mrs. J. R. E. Lee, at breakfast and Dr. and Mrs. John R. Carter, at dinner.
Her second appearance was at the recreation center here under the sponsorship of AKA's Gamma Rho Omega chapter, where she was also received enthusiastically.
