Miss Keeton Sued For Lawyers Fee

LAUREL, MISS., Apr. 15. (UP)

Miss Ouida Keeton, facing life in prison for the alleged butcher slaying of her mother, Mrs. Daisy Keeton, last January, has been named in a suit for $1,900 for legal services filed here by the law firm of Welch & Cooper.

Miss Keeton was named jointly with David F. McRae, her brother-in-law, the lawyers asserting they worked in her behalf from January to February 16, and although demands were made for payment, they have received no money.

The woman is free on bond pending hearing of an writ before the supreme court. Carter, middle aged man, is also charged in the case, but has not been tried.

A pair of legs and the lower part of the torso of a white woman, found by a negro hunter, led to the alleged confession by Miss Keeton that Carter and she had butchered her mother, but she later repudiated the story. No other portion of the body was ever found.
