Full Text

Reform Triumph in New York. -The vote on the adoption of the amended charter in New York was very decisive. There were 36,574 votes cast for it, while but 3,351 were in opposition. The groggeries and plunderers generally were active in their opposition, but the frauds and peculations had become so enormous and flagrant that the people were fully aroused and put them through with a strong hand. If they will now forget party and elect honest, capable and reliable citizens to office, they may have a reform that will be felt. If they don't do this, they will only drive off one swarm to be eaten up by another.
