A Political Speech Ends in a Fight.
Cincinnati, September 19.-Last night
General Durban Ward delivered a political
speech at Lebanon, Ohio, in which he said
that the offense of Police Lieutenant Mul-
lan, recently released from jail, where he
had been imprisoned for violating the Fed-
eral election laws last November, was mild
compared with the outrages committed by
United States Marshal Lot Wright during
the October election in this city. To-day
Mr. Ward and Mr. Wright met on the train
going to Lebanon, and a lively discussion
took place over Mr. Ward's remarks last
night. The quarrel ended by Wright
striking his adversary a severe blow over the
eye with sufficient force to draw blood.
Other passengers prevented further difficulty.
