ALBANY, May 16.—John H. Finley, State Commissioner of Education, has made the following announcement to the schools of the State, whose pupils are urged to read peace literature and sing peace songs on Tuesday:
"The 18th of May has long celebrated as Peace Day, and its observance has been asked by the American Peace League. There is no better way to send to all the schools that the entrance of the President in Philadelphia to the 4,000 aliens who had sworn allegiance as citizens of the United States was said to these aliens was from over the seas is as good as those who born in America have entered citizenship or are on the way to it.
"The example of America is a special example. America must be the example of peace because it will not have peace because peace is the elevating influence of the world.
