OWEN D. YOUNG ATTRACTS ATTENTION.
The other day Edward A. Filene, the famous economist, named Owen D. Young at the head of a short list whom he declared could easily earn a million dollars a year salary. Now comes the following from the Boston News Bureau:
Admiral Carey T. Grayson, returning from Europe, says Europe generally considers Owen D. Young the outstanding figure in American life; Lloyd George told him he would not be surprised to see Young President and that the reparations adviser is not only a great American figure but a growing international one.
If Gov. Roosevelt's physicians continue to insist that he must not be a candidate for President, do not be surprised if the Democrats should name the great lawyer-engineer as their Presidential nominee in 1932.
If - another IF - President Hoover should be unable to land a renomination, keep your eye on Ambassador Morrow. Then there would be two candidates who are alike in many ways.
The chief difference is that Morrow is a Southerner and a Republican while Young is a Northerner and a Democrat.
