Prince Saunders, an African late of this town now in the service of Christophe King of Hayti, compiled and published in London a work entitled Haytian papers with a preface by himself prefixed by a portrait of the Editor. The publication consists principally of official papers serving as a history of the kingdom designed to vindicate Hayti's claims to be ranked among civilized and enlightened States. It is creditable to the authors and displays talents and intelligence. A copy is in the Boston Athenaeum presented by the Editor.
