Butte Bandit Robs
Two Stores of $200

Holding clerks at the point of a gun, a youthful, unmasked bandit recently robbed two stores in Butte, escaping with loot amounting to more than $200.

The robberies, which occurred within a few minutes of each other, are believed to have been the work of the same man.

The Centerville drug store was the first victim. The clerk, Albert Doull was forced to give the thief $3.50, and was warned he would be shot if he reported the theft. A few minutes later a MacMarr store was similarly robbed. Harold Heinicke, the only clerk present was forced to hand over more than $200 from the store's tills. Mrs. Heinicke, who had just entered the place, was forced to witness the robbery.

Description given by the clerks tallied closely. The bandit in each case was said to have been about 24 years old, of slight build, 5 feet 9 inches tall, light in complexion and with dark hair.
