PUBLIC NUISANCE

The streets at the North West corner of the State House Square, have within a few days become a public nuisance, particularly in the evenings. The fruit and other wagons that are permitted to stand there, keep the pavements or sidewalks in a filthy condition. At night a herd of boys, "big and little, young and old," congregate there for sport, the melon rinds fly in every direction, hit or miss, the wagons are hauled about and the venders of the fruit are made the butt of fun, while the rabble keep up an incessant bawling and whooping, so our children can't go to sleep. Won't the authorities look to the matter?
