Alaska's Christmas Mail
To Be Delivered Despite
Seattle Waterfront Strike

SEATTLE, (P)—Alaska will get most of its Christmas mail despite Seattle's current waterfront tieup.

The Post Office Department said Monday 100 tons of Christmas mail removed from the SS Baranof last week when its schedule sailing was canceled because of the longshore foremen's dispute here is enroute north by barge.

The barge left Tacoma Saturday. It has mail for Seward, Valdez, Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Postal officials said arrangements also are being made for mail shipments to southeastern and westward Alaska.
