The following officers were elected for the ensuing year.
Rev. Geo. B. Manser D. D., Bennington. Secretary; Hon. Roderick Richardson, Montpelier, Treasurer; Cyrus A. Booth, Vergennes. Geo. R. Chapman, Woodstock, J. E. Higgins Brandon, Finance Committee.
An elegant address urging an earnest and firm support of government, against the present rebellion, was given by Bishop Hopkins. The address represented the condition of the diocese as a prosperous one.
The following standing committee were appointed.
Rev. John A. Hicks, Rev. Albert H. Bailey. Rev. C. R. Batchelder, R. G. Cole Esq., S. Deming, Esq., H. R. Richardson Esq.,
Rev. J. Sweet was appointed to preach the sermon before the next Diocesan Convention, Rev. Thos. A. Hopkins. Substitute.
Resolutions tendering acknowledgement to the citizens of Burlington, for their generous hospitalities were passed.
The next Annual Convention, was ordered to be held at Burlington.
