SHIPWRECK.

On the evening of Saturday last, about 9 o'clock, the ship Amazon, John Robert, master, ran ashore at a place called Coggeshall's Neck, at the south end of this island. The ship was on her passage from the Bay of Honduras, bound to Portland, and had onboard a cargo of mahogany, dye-stuffs, &c. most of the former of which is saved-the ship bilged almost immediately after she struck.

When the ship went ashore, there was a very thick fog, which had prevailed for some time previous, and no observation could be taken for a considerable number of days. The ship has nearly gone to pieces.
