Mr. Pickett and young Mr. Campbell heard their screams and hastened to the scene, but the sufferers were so shockingly burned that they survived only a few hours. They were preparing to go to Wisconsin, and had just bidden adieu to their friends, when they were thus suddenly summoned to bid adieu to the world.
