GOODMAN DEDICATION SERVICE OF THE METHODIST CHURCH

On Sunday, October 31st, a service of dedication was held at the Methodist Church in Goodman, Miss.

Plans for this church were begun and pledges made in 1923, during the pastorate of Rev. Julian Duncan. The next year the building was begun. Many financial reverses have made the congregation unable to finish the pledges and pay off the debt, and many times the interest was all that could be paid in a year. But this year, 1943, with the Rev. E. C. Driskell as pastor, and with his splendid leadership, the last note has been met.

The Rev. Lord, District Superintendent, came over from Greenwood and led the impressive dedicatory service, and delivered a splendid message.

The church was beautifully decorated with autumn leaves and yellow chrysanthemums.

The sextette from the college sang "The Lord's Prayer," and Miss Rosa Wyse Forde played Gounod's "Ave Maria," a violin solo, both accompanied by Mrs. McKie.
