The General Assembly having adjourned without having passed assessment or tax bills for the year 1873, by operation of law, the acts in force March 15 and April 5, 1872, govern the assessments for this year. The Auditor of Public Accounts has placed in the hands of the Superintendent of Public Printing, the forms of the books for listing and assessing the taxes, and they, together with a new compilation of revenue laws now in force, will be forwarded to the revenue officers just as soon as ready.
