An East Tennessee Paper gives the following account of the wheat crop in that section:

From all parts of the country we have the most encouraging reports as to the prospect of this crop. The fields smile with the luxuriance and verdure of half-advanced spring.

Our farmers rejoice in the assurance of a harvest unprecedentedly large, and we hope that bursting granaries will reward their toils. An unusually large breadth of land has been sown, and we observe the same pleasing prospect along the lines of road throughout the whole length of East Tennessee.
