Rev. L. M. Terrill, pastor Zion Hill Baptist Church, said Friday he expects an overflow crowd of members and friends next Sunday, August 10, when NAACP Day is observed there.
The occasion will be enhanced with the presentation of the NAACP Youth Achievement Plaque by the Atlanta Branch to 8-year-old Gladys Knight, National Amateur Radio Champion of 1952.
In observing NAACP Day, Rev. Mr. Terrill and his Zion Hill congregation are carrying through a community program designed to contribute to organizations deemed worthy of support. Zion Hill will make a sizeable contribution to the branch and personal memberships from those in attendance are expected to swell the total.
T. M. Alexander, realtor and insurance broker, will be principal speaker for the 11 o'clock morning event.
Citizens from over the Atlanta metropolitan area are expected to witness the presentation of the plaque to little Miss Knight, three-time top winner on Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour.
