St. Domingo. The brig Ann Eliza, Jane, of New York, has been confiscated to the Government of Hayti, together with her cargo, in consequence of having on board false money of that country. The Captain, whose name is Davis, is proved to the Court to be perfectly innocent. A mulatto man, Jeremiah Hamilton, was clearly proved was the person who cut the money in the brig, he was sentenced to death, but has escaped. A statement published in the New-York Commercial Advertiser, of the 19th inst. implicates some of the merchants of that city in the transaction.
