Charles Sheker, Who Lived Near Fort Dodge, Is Struck by Lightning During Sunday's Heavy Storm - Two Boys Shocked.

Special to Times-Republican.

Fort Dodge, June 19.--While returning from the Des Moines river Sunday afternoon, Charles Sheker was struck by lightning and instantly killed. Two companions were badly shocked, but otherwise uninjured. The boys had been to the Des Moines river fishing, and when the storm came up about 4 o'clock started for home. They were crossing a pasture when a flash of lightning struck down the Sheker boy. His clothing was torn from his body and a great wound in the top of the head showed where the bolt had struck. He sank to the ground and when his two companions recovered from the shock they found Sheker dead. Sheker was 17 years of age.
