PHILADELPHIA. AUGUST 28.
A letter from Mr. Lippincott, of this city,
one of the Americans taken in Miranda's schooners, dated Porto Cabello, July 28. states, that
the prisoners had been tried—and ten of the
principal officers, who were upwards of 25
years of age, were sentenced to death, and had
been executed.—The others were sentenced to
ten years confinement in irons, and had been
distributed in different castles.
The names of Kirkland and Ledlie. are not
mentioned among them: that

Captain Huddle, of the schooner Bee, was killed
in the action with the Guarda Costa.

with the particulars of their trial.

from the official judgment, we are indebted to
the politeness of a respectable friend.
