Biddeford, Maine, Feb. 18.-(AP).-
While Joseph Labbe, coast guardsman hero, was being urged today by his fellow townsmen as a deserving recipient of a Carnegie medal, Antonio, his brother, was under sentence to serve two months in jail and pay a fine of $100.
Early reports of the court proceedings in which Antonio figured named his hero brother as the defendant. This later was corrected.
The feat for which Joseph Labbe is being mentioned in connection with an award for heroism occurred at the height of the great blizzard last Thursday, when, after his boat, the C-12g had been wrecked on the Rhode Island coast, he walked barefooted 12 hours through snow drifts to bring help to five companions.
