Full Text

LITCHFIELD (Connecticut) March 14.

A circumstance exceedingly regrettable, is the present rage of that dreadful malady the THROAT DISEASE, at Sharon, which, we are advised, attacks adult as well as infant persons, and has enrolled in the catalogue of fate, several very promising youths, who were just blossoming into life, and sporting in the sunshine of their infant years; giving full indulgence to the joys of fantastic imagination, without reflecting, that

"The spider's most attenuated thread,
Is cord—is cable, to man's tender tie on earthly bliss
It breaks at every breeze."

We wish the faculty would wreck their pericraniums, for a remedy against the fatal consequences of so alarming an evil.
