From the New York Evening Post.

The President's Last.--Our venerable President in passing Holt's Hotel yesterday was cheered by a number of gentlemen on the dome of that magnificent establishment, when he remarked that it was the highest compliment he had received in the city.

We are gratified to learn that the President's health had been improved by his journey--that he enjoyed fine spirits, and was gratefully impressed by the demonstrations of affectionate feeling, with which he was everywhere received.

We understand it was his intention to leave New York for New Haven on Saturday.
