JOHNNY FALCON
Not only the little town of Azuza, but all of California has just reason for pride in the splendid record made by Johnny Falcon, in capturing first place in the Junior Olympics at Atlantic City recently.

Johnny a 14 year old youngster, won out in competition with youths from all over the nation. The score he made in the various competitive events astounded athletic men in other sections of the United States, each of which had its regional champion, believed to be good enough to win the national championship.

His triumph, coming at the same time that another California youth—Frank Wykoff of Glendale—astounded the country by equalling the world's record for the 100 meter run four times in one afternoon, has compelled due recognition for the boys of California, just as the prowess of the Berkeley crew and other collegiate athletes has done in the senior division. Wykoff, although still in high school, ran the collegians off their feet, and from an athletic standpoint is considered a senior.

Johnny Falcon is still a kid.
