Alaska Welcomes National President Legion Auxiliary

Mrs. Willis C. Reed, the National President of the American Legion Auxiliary is visiting Alaska this month. Mrs. Reed is accompanied by her secretary, Jeanette Houston. They arrived by boat visiting units and members at Ketchikan, Sitka and Juneau. They arrived in Anchorage Monday en route to Fairbanks today. They plan to leave Thursday for Chicago then on to St. Louis for the department convention there, then on to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend Mrs. Reed's own District convention. This itinerary makes it impossible to attend the Alaska Department convention in Seward beginning Friday, August 31.
