Experience of a Business Man of Montgomery With His Bankers.
Montgomery, Sept. 4.-(Special.)-The Journal says this afternoon editorially:
Are the banks quietly boycotting silver men? If so, would it not be an awful shame on the community to boycott banks? A Montgomery business man who has been doing business with a certain bank for ten or fifteen years or longer, and whose deposits have run up in the tens of thousands annually, and whose relations with the bank have hitherto been most cordial and pleasant and without loss to the bank, informs the Journal that when he asked for an overdraft a few days ago, as has been his custom for years at certain times, he was denied and no reason directly given, but it became manifest during the argument which followed the interview over the question of free silver. The bank officer was very severe on his friend, who had stood by the bank even when it was threatened with disaster, and told him that he was advocating a policy that meant the destruction of the banker and the banks, and he must abandon it.
