DAVIDSON COLLEGE RECEIVES BEQUEST

$50,000 From Estate of the Late Robert K. Smith

Davidson, N. C., Dec. 3.—Davidson college officials today announced receipt of a bequest of $50,000 from the estate of the late Robert K. Smith, former vice president of P. Lorillard Tobacco company and one of the founders of the American Tobacco company.

According to the terms of the will, the bequest is to be used by the college authorities as they see fit. Announcement was made that it will be turned into a revolving fund, to be used in emergencies.

Mr. Smith was a native of North Carolina but never visited Davidson, it is said.
