MINNESOTA.

The Connecticut and Rhode Island Elections have added five to the Republican score in the next House of Representatives, beside rendering morally certain the choice of one more from the latter State, which will raise the Opposition tally to 117. If to these be added the two which remain to be chosen from Minnesota, the organization of the House will be secured beyond contingency.

We have received several letters from Republicans in Minnesota, suggesting that this or that be done or not done in order to insure a Republican victory in that State next Fall. To which responds generally The Tribune:

We desire that leading Republicans from other States, and especially our eminent debaters like Senators Wilson, Fessenden, Trumbull and Wade, should take a trip through Minnesota the ensuing Summer. They will find that a most delightful State, of great natural beauty and fertility, with a healthful bracing atmosphere, pure water, and hardy, intelligent, virtuous, energetic population.

There is not a finer trip for a Summer excursion than across Illinois or Wisconsin to the Mississippi up the river to St. Paul, the Falls of St. Anthony, and as much higher as you please, then across to Lake Superior, down that lake through the Copper and Iron regions to the Sault Ste. Marie, and so down by Mackinac and Detroit, or by Collingwood and Toronto. And we venture to assure any of our prominent Republicans who will make this trip the ensuing Summer, spending a fortnight or so in the chief places of Minnesota, that they will meet there many who will give them a warm and hearty welcome.

We would also urge some of our able, experienced journalists to look to Minnesota as their future home. Some of her cities are destined to a rapid growth, and a vast importance and trade. Northward and Westward, from St. Paul and St. Anthony, stretches an immense region of fertile and heavily-timbered country, threaded by navigable rivers, and studded by gems of lakes, which is destined to rapid settlement by a robust, active, intelligent people, who will for a century regard St. Paul and its vicinity as their natural focus of intelligence. Within ten years, St. Paul journals will have a large circulation in Selkirk's settlement, on the Saskatchewan, and perhaps on Puget's Sound.

To any Republican editor of approved ability, experience, character, and means, who may be at liberty to choose a new location, we say, Take a trip to Minnesota as early as June. You can there buy newspaper properties for $2,000 to $10,000 that will, if well managed, quadruple their value within the next five years. Now is the time to buy or to establish. The Revulsion has swept over Minnesota with desolating fury. All values save of the first necessaries of life were temporarily destroyed by it. Individuals were stripped to the skin, but the State was permanently benefited. Fictitious values were upset. Property, which had been held out of the reach of prudent buyers, was reduced fifty to seventy-five per cent. in market price. Thousands who supposed themselves rich, and had thereupon ceased to be useful, have been driven back
