Oct. 14. As the Sea is the Element on which the English Valour should, at this important Juncture of Affairs, be more especially displayed, it becomes every true Briton to rejoice, that Admiral Watson and Pocock, Captains Lockhart and Gilchrist, have given such eminent Proofs of the old English Prowess and Resolution, and to hope that other Admirals and Commanders will follow their gallant Examples, by which we shall most certainly continue Masters of the Sea.

Admiral Smith will hoist his Flag on Board the Royal Sovereign. The Union, which he was on Board for some Time, is going into Portsmouth Dock to be fitted for the Sea; which, as soon as done, an Admiral, who is to have the Command of the Channel Fleet, will hoist his Flag on Board. She is esteemed one of the finest 90 Gun Ships in the Navy.
