Full Text

Nov. 7. Yesterday morning the two Kennedys were brought into the Court of King's-Bench, Westminster-hall, when Mr. Serjeant Glynn moved, That the merits of the appeal might be entered into. Mr. Wallace, counsel for the Kennedys, then moved, That the appellant should appear to make good her charge against the defendants. Proclamation was accordingly made in the court for that purpose, when the appellant not appearing, she was nonsuited. Nov. 8. The two Kennedys are to be brought up again some day this term, in order to be discharged from the appeal; the sentence remains as it did, the one to be transported for life, and the other to wait his Majesty's pleasure.

We are assured that the widow Bigby has received 330l. and is gone to Holland. One of their sisters went in the coach with the Kennedys to prison. The two sisters of the Kennedys were in the court of King's-Bench on Tuesday, when their brothers were brought to the bar. It is said Mrs. Bigby would have prosecuted the above murderers upon the appeal, provided a certain set of Gentlemen would have given her 330l. She absolutely refused, two months ago, to take 350l. from the friends of the Kennedys; declared, she would never sell her husband's blood; but finding she was not supported as she expected, she at last acquiesced in receiving the above-mentioned sum.
