MOUNTAINS SOAKED SAYS RANGER

Rain Throughout Sandias Has Been Beneficial and General Wetness Prevails According to Forest Service Man.

That considerable rain has fallen in the Sandia mountain district during the past week or so and has fallen gradually enough to soak well into the ground was stated by Forest Ranger Hammond of the Manzano Forest, who was in the city Saturday from the ranger station in Tijeras canyon where he is in charge.

"There has been little snow," said Mr. Hammond, "but a great deal of drizzling rain which has soaked well into the ground so that there is more moisture in the soil than for months. It has been badly needed."
