Last Thursday night the house of Mr. Joseph Way of Chesterfield Society, in this town, was struck by lightning, which came down the chimney, burst open all the doors and windows in the house, ripped off the window caps, raised the Chamber floor and roof, and removed one of the main posts of the house several inches from its place, burst down the partitions, entered a bed room where a child lay in bed, and destroyed a case and set of bottles therein, & killed a dog-- although a number of persons were in the house, providentially none of them received any hurt.
