Good Attendance At Dairy Judging Meetings

About 80 farmers and 4-H club members have attended the dairy judging meetings held during the week by the County Agent, at which time a discussion was given on the selection of dairy cows and a class of dairy cows were judged each evening.

According to the County Agent the main thing to look for in selecting a dairy cow is one that is typical of the breed, with plenty of size, straight top line, good width, plenty of capacity and large well shaped udder of good quality. All these qualities indicate cows of good production.

Judging meetings were held at Peter Melberg's Monday; Ed Rydeen's Tuesday; John Halvorson, Gonvick on Wednesday and M. E. Andrist of Leonard on Friday.

A Farmers Judging Contest is being planned for the Clearwater County Fair, August 25th-28th.
