Change of Proprietorship.—That sterling democratic journal, the Age of Philadelphia, announced a change in its proprietorship. Mr. William H. Welsh retires and is succeeded by Hon. Charles J. Biddle. The new firm is Robb & Biddle. Mr. Biddle has long been identified with the Age as the writer of its scholarly and masterly editorials. Having his name now publicly announced as an interested party in the success of the Age, we have no doubt that all his fine qualifications will be brought to bear to advance the reputation of the paper and spread true Democratic doctrines. Col. Biddle, besides being a live Democrat, was a soldier during the Mexican war, was Colonel of the Bucktail regiment at the opening of Seward's "irrepressible conflict," and was elected to Congress while by the Potomac. The war having been changed into a crusade upon slavery during his Congressional term, he never re-entered the service. He now turns up in a new field, for which he is peculiarly qualified. The firm has our best wishes. If any of our readers desire a good city paper they can do no better than subscribe for the Age. Address Robb & Biddle, Philadelphia.
